2025: Review

The 44th GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON was a hot race in cold weather. A total of 42,667 athletes from 135 nations registered for Germany’s largest and most spectacular half marathon and its associated events. This now places the event among the largest half marathons in the world. From an elite sport perspective, it was also a record-breaking race: Amanal Petros improved his own German half marathon record to 59:31 minutes, becoming the first German to break the one-hour barrier. Ethiopia’s Fotyen Tesfaye smashed the course record, running the fifth-fastest time ever recorded worldwide with 63:35.
