2025: Preview

Over 40,000 people from 135 nations have registered. Among them are two of Germany’s most prominent runners, Gesa Krause and Richard Ringer. Krause is a two-time European champion in the 3000m steeplechase and won silver at the 2024 European Championships in Rome. Ringer, meanwhile, claimed the European marathon title in Munich 2022. In Berlin, both will put themselves to the test over 21.0975 kilometres. The 44th GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON promises to be a spectacular sporting event, kicking off the 2025 running season on the streets of the capital. In this digital event magazine, you’ll find everything you need to know about Germany’s biggest half marathon, which will take place on 6 April 2025 on an even more exciting course, including some entirely new segments. We’ll introduce the favourites, as well as a few inspiring individuals running with a special personal motivation. You will find all the key dates, the best photos from previous years, and a look ahead at what runners and spectators can anticipate on race weekend in Berlin. Plus, we’ll share plenty of tips for the race itself and suggestions for making the most of your time in the city.

THE COURSE BERLIN PALACE

THE COURSE BERLIN PALACE KM 15 | 16 Two of them lead there and back along the wide Karl-Marx- Allee with its huge and magnificent apartment blocks, which were modelled after Moscow’s style during the East German era. From there, the route runs almost under the TV Tower to the Red City Hall, the seat of Berlin‘s city and state government. At kilometre 19, you cross the Spree River on the Karl Liebknecht Bridge with Berlin Cathedral and Museum Island on your right. From here, the last two kilometres begin. These run like a rush along the magnificent boulevard Unter den Linden to the Brandenburg Gate before crossing the landmark of Berlin‘s separation 150 metres before the finish. It is hard to imagine a more emotional finish. The course is flat and particularly fast, so it‘s always a great place to beat your personal best.
