THE BIG PREVIEW

The medal on the right is the 2025 finisher medal. And just like last year’s medal on the left, this year’s will bring just as much joy—guaranteed! Over 40,000 people from 135 nations have signed up. Among them are two of Germany’s top athletes, Gesa Krause and Richard Ringer. Krause, a two-time European champion in the 3,000m steeplechase, won European silver in Rome in 2024. Ringer, on the other hand, was crowned European marathon champion in Munich in 2022. Both will put themselves to the test over 21.0975 kilometres in Berlin. The 44th GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON promises to be a spectacular sporting festival, kicking off the 2025 running season on the streets of the capital. It is also part of the SuperHalfs—a series of six elite half marathons across Germany, Spain, Denmark, Portugal, the UK, and the Czech Republic. Germany’s largest and most prestigious half marathon will be held for the 44th time on 6 April. The GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON has seen impressive growth in both elite and amateur running. Last year, for the first time, more than 30,000 runners crossed the finish line at the Brandenburg Gate, making it one of the world’s biggest half marathons. It’s almost certain that a new record for the number of finishers will be set on 6 April. - 33 -
