Germany's aces, like Melat Kejeta and Samuel Fitwi, are using the marathon as a readiness test for the Olympic marathon in Paris, are hoping to qualify for the half marathon at the European Athletics Championships in Rome and are even aiming for the European record. The 43rd GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON promises to be a huge sports festival to open the 2024 running season on the streets of the capital. And for the first time, it will be part of the "SuperHalfs"—a series of six top European half marathon races in Germany, Spain, Denmark, Portugal, Great Britain and the Czech Republic. It passes the old stockexchange, the Marble Church and ChristiansborgPalace, where the Danish Parliament meets andwhere the Prime Minister has her seat. After21.0975 kilometres, thousands of spectators awaityou at the finish line on one of Copenhagen‘smost famous boulevards, Frederiksberg Avenue.Since its inception in 2003, the Cardiff HalfMarathon has established itself as one of the UK‘sleading road races. With 27,500 participants eachyear, the race is regularly sold out. The race isone of the largest half marathons in Europe—agreat success considering that only 1500 runnerstook part in the first race. The course passesthe important landmarks of the capital of Wales.These include the beautiful Cardiff Bay and CardiffCastle, which dates back to the twelfth century.Thousands cheer on the runners in a city knownfor its passion for sport.
