2021: Preview

#restartrunning: The GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON is the first really big running event in Germany after the long Corona break. More than 25,000 participants are expected to run the 21.0975 kilometres on August 22, 2021. Because all of them will either have been vaccinated against Covid19, have recovered from the disease or have demonstrated through PCR tests not to be currently infected, the run will also be a safe affair. You can expect a super-fast loop course that takes you past all the major sights - with the start and finish in the immediate vicinity of the Brandenburg Gate and the Victory Column. In this digital magazine, you'll find all the important information about the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON 2021, when the race celebrates its 40th birthday.

Wristbands must be worn

Wristbands must be worn by all participants throughout the event as proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test sults within eight hours). This test will remain valid for exactly 48 hours - which will suffice for proof for the race on Sunday. In addition, all participants will receive another wristband and their race number at the EXPO. Access to the event area on Sunday is only possible with these both wristbands, which must be worn until the end of the race day. FULLY VACCINATED OR RECOVERED? Get set! Those who can prove their full vaccination digitally do not need proof of a negative test to enter the EXPO grounds or the fenced-off event areas on Sunday. The same applies to anyone who has recovered from Covid-19 and has had at least one vaccination. When checking in at the former Tempelhof Airport, they will need their ID card or passport and a medi- 21

cal mask that covers both nose and mouth in addition to their start pass, as well as digital proof of vaccination or recovery stored in either the German Corona warn app, the European CovPass app or the Luca app. Those who thus can prove that they have been fully vaccinated or recovered for at least 14 days will receive a special wristband at check-in for access to the EXPO and the race. Those who had Covid no more than six months ago but have not yet received an additional vaccination will still be required to provide digital proof of a negative PCR test at that time or a digital certificate from the health department to receive the special wristband. In addition, all participants will receive another wristband along with their race number at the EXPO. Access to the event area on Sunday is only possible with these both wristbands, and they must be worn until the end of the race day. AND THIS IS WHAT EVERYONE NEEDS AT THE START Go. To get to the start, all participants must have: the two wristbands, a medical mask that covers both mouth and nose, their race number, and a garment bag if they did not book a poncho (which will be provided to those who booked one after the finish as weather protection). The regular Covid hygiene regulations apply both at the EXPO and on the event grounds. 22
