What an amazing GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON we experienced on April 7, 2019. Under the best spring weather conditions, 29,757 runners and inline skaters completed the 21.0975 kilometres to the new finish at the Brandenburg Gate, after enjoying a fantastic sightseeing tour of the capital. Although Sifan Hassan from the Netherlands missed the women's targeted world record, she delivered a new course record in a strong 65:45 minutes. And Richard Ringer led the tough field of German runners, completing his first half marathon in 62:10 minutes to finish seventh. R U N N E R S ‘ P H O T O S E L I T E Sifan Hassan produced the highlight of the 39th edition of the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON with a world-class time. The Dutch runner smashed the course record, clocking 1:05:45 at the new finish at Brandenburg Gate. While Sifan Hassan dominated the women’s race spectators witnessed a thrilling sprint finish in the men’s event: William Wanjiku was the winner with 1::01:00. He continued Kenya’s success story in the GENERALI BERLIN HALF MARATHON. 37
